Exhibition event for the Centre for Outdoor Sports

PR2494/RA/IB - 06/03/2023

Mid Sussex District Council will be hosting a public exhibition of plans for the Centre for Outdoor Sports at the Triangle Leisure Centre in Burgess Hill on Wednesday 8 March 2023 between 11 am – 3 pm and 4.30 pm – 7.30 pm.

The plans have been developed following a comprehensive consultation with key sports clubs from Burgess Hill and the wider area, local secondary schools, and relevant national governing bodies of sport.

At the exhibition, representatives from our project team will be on hand to answer questions and talk through the plans. If you are unable to attend, you can view the exhibition boards, complete the feedback form and sign up for updates at: https://engage.midsussex.gov.uk/cfos

Councillor Jonathan Ash-Edwards
, Leader of Mid Sussex District Council:

“We invite you to look at our plans for the Centre for Outdoor Sport. These have evolved as a result of all the feedback received from last year’s consultation. We really value the meaningful engagement with residents, local sports groups and national sporting bodies and thank you all.

“The Mid Sussex Centre for Outdoor Sport will be game changing for our community’s sporting facilities. It is a multi-million pound project to deliver new sports pitches and spaces and represents the biggest investment in Mid Sussex’s sporting infrastructure in a generation.

“We all want to see new community infrastructure and improvements come alongside with new homes and this is exactly what the Council is delivering here. It’s only been possible because we have an up-to-date Local Plan that is ambitious for our community and secures the funding we need from developers to make projects like this a reality”.

Councillor John Belsey, Deputy Leader of Mid Sussex District Council, said:

“We’d like to thank all who participated in the consultation and helped shape our plans.

“We hope the Centre for Outdoor Sport’s facilities will truly inspire residents to become more active, especially budding footballers, rugby players, cricketers and runners as we get closer to seeing the centre become a reality. For those providing us with your contact details, this will enable us to keep you updated as the centre progresses through planning, construction and finally to opening!”
