Safe Space Sussex
Safe Space Sussex Scheme
The Safe Space Sussex Scheme is a network of locations across the county offering a place of safety for individuals if they feel unsafe, threatened or at risk of harm. They provide a space and facilities for someone to make a phone call to a loved one, trusted contact, or the police if necessary, or simply wait until they feel safe and comfortable to continue with their day. Safe Space locations include businesses, council buildings and various other publicly accessible venues that meet the scheme’s eligibility criteria.
You can find the nearest safe space in Mid Sussex by using the map function on the website, either by using your device’s location or entering a postcode: Safe:Space Sussex - Safe Spaces Search
Can you provide a safe space?
We are actively expanding the scheme to include a wider range of businesses and other publicly accessible venues. We would greatly value your support in raising awareness of initiative and in helping to identify suitable locations, including local businesses, that may be approved as designated safe spaces.
