WasteBuster Free Waste Education Programme Membership for Mid Sussex Primary Schools
West Sussex Local Authorities are currently offering free membership to the national WasteBuster schools programme for Mid Sussex schools.
WasteBuster provides a wide range of cross-curricular teaching resources to make waste education an exciting part of the curriculum. Guidance for working towards all levels of Eco-Schools accreditation, and clear, practical guidance, news and information on reducing waste and recycling in school.
Find all the resources you need to run an eco-campaign, incorporate eco-activities into other areas of the curriculum such as English, Maths, Science or Art & Design or deliver a focused scheme of work on the environment on the Wastebuster website. the Wastebuster Teachers Bin is crammed full of lesson plans, interactive assemblies, PowerPoint presentations, worksheets, art and craft activities, games and much more!

MSDC Education Programme for Schools
Mid Sussex District Council can also provide limited sessions for schools around recycling for both Primary and Secondary schools and it is available to other groups and organisations as well.
Sessions, for assemblies or class rooms, are linked to the National Curriculum and are packed with information and fun activities delivered by trained and enthusiastic staff.

Material Recycling Facility Education Room at Ford
All recycling collected at the kerbside in West Sussex is sorted at a state of the art Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) (run by Viridor on behalf of WSCC) in Ford, near Arundel. Attached to this facility is an Education Room, which allows school children to learn and see for themselves what happens to their recycling after it is collected from their homes. This facility is available to class sized groups of children in Key Stage Two and above.
It is also available for visits from groups of adults of minimum 8, maximum 14 people.

Recycling Collections for Schools
We can provide recycling bins for schools. Recycling collections are fortnightly and done at the same time as surrounding houses.
