Criteria for Eligibility

If you are a permanent resident of eligible age in Mid Sussex you are entitled to free bus travel under the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme, a subsidised senior rail card or taxi vouchers (for those unable to use public transport).


you may be eligible for a disabled persons bus pass (under the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme ) if you have a disability in any one or more of the following categories;

  • you are severely sight impaired (blind)
  • you are sight impaired (partially sighted)
  • you are profoundly or severely deaf
  • you are without speech
  • you have a disability or injury which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to walk
  • you are without the use of both arms
  • you have a significant learning disability
  • you have been refused a driving licence (or would be should you apply) on medical grounds under section 92 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 (physical fitness)
