Children and families are important to us. They make up the communities that we serve and they are our future.
The Mid Sussex Family Support Network works to develop our local workforce to support families even better. Mid Sussex has been at the forefront of the development of the new Early Help model. One of the main highlights has been the importance of developing good relationships with other colleagues who are working to the same outcomes of supporting families to help themselves. This is one of the main aims of the Family Support Network. To bring workers together who are supporting families so that they can get to understand better what each other’s doing and what to do when there is a concern about a child or family.
The Mid Sussex Family Support Network meets weekly to look at how services can support families in need across the District. This includes representatives from a range of settings such as Mental Health, Children and Family Centre’s, Housing Providers, Police and charities.
