New Build Affordable Housing (Information for the Public)

MSDC secures new affordable housing on many new developments across the district which are the built by housing associations as well as some 100% affordable housing schemes. The schemes below are schemes being built over the next few years. please be aware that completion dates given are estimates and may change.

New rented homes are allocated through Choice Based Lettings to households on the Common Housing Register. Apply to go on the Common Housing Register. Rented properties are advertised through Choice Based Lettings in advance of the estimated completion dates given below.

New shared ownership homes are sold to households on the HelptoBuy register. Apply to go on the Help to Buy register. Shared ownership properties are often advertised several months before the estimated completion dates given below. All shared ownership properties that are currently available and being marketed are advertised on the Help to Buy webpage.

New affordable homes are prioritised to households with a local connection to the town or parish where the development is located.

New Homes

  • Little Park Farm, Hurstpierpoint

    42 affordable homes will be provided by Hyde Housing Association on this development with the houses completing from February 2018 onwards and the flats from 2019:

    8 x 1 bed flats (including 1 x fully accessible wheelchair flat), 6 x 2 bed flats, 10 x 2 bed houses, 6 x 2 bed houses and 2 x 4 bed houses for affordable rent.

    8 x 2 bed houses and 2 x 3 bed houses for shared ownership.

  • Gravelye Lane, "Heathwood Park", Lindfield (a Local Lettings Plan applies to this development)

    69 new affordable homes will be provided on the site by Saxon Weald, with the properties due to be completed between May 2015 and March 2018.

    The last remaining properties due to be completed are:

    September 2017 - 3 x 1 bed flats and 6 x 2 bed flats (for affordable rent) and 1 x 2 bed flat (for shared ownership).

    March 2018 - 10 x 3 bed houses (for affordable rent) and 3 x 3 bed houses (for shared ownership).

  • Keymer Brick and Tile, Burgess Hill

    This large phased development is expected to provide 142 new affordable homes.  Raven will provide 38 affordable homes on the first phase.

    Phase 1 (a) is now complete.  Still to come on Phase 1 (b):

    September 2017 - 7 x 2 bed flats (for affordable rent).

    December 2017 - 1 x 2 bed flat, 2 x 2 bed houses and 1 x 3 bed house (for affordable rent).

    March/April 2018 -  4 x 2 bed houses including 1 fully accessible wheelchair house and 1 x 3 bed house (for affordable rent) and 2 x 3 bed houses for shared ownership

    June 2018 - 2 x 1 bed flats (for affordable rent)

  • Rocky Lane, Haywards Heath - UPDATED

    This large phased development is expected to provide a further 49 affordable homes following the recent completion of phase 1.

    Phase 2 now onsite:

    Clarion Housing Group will be providing 40 affordable homes between 2018-2020:

    Sep 2018 - Jan 2019 - 3 x 2 bed & 3 x 3 bed houses for rent and 2 x 2 bed and 2 x 3 bed houses for shared ownership

    Apr 2019 - 3 x 1 bed and 2 x 2 bed flats for rent (inc 1 x 2 bed fully accessible wheelchair flat)

    Oct/Nov 2019 - 5 x 2 bed and 1 3 bed houses for rent and 1 x 3 bed house for shared ownership

    Jan - Apr 2020 - 4 x 1 bed flats & 4 x 2 bed houses for rent and 2 x 2 bed houses for shared ownership

    2 x 3 bed houses for shared ownership
