Have your say about crime and anti-social behaviour in Mid Sussex

- 22/09/2023

Residents across Mid Sussex are being asked to share their thoughts about crime and anti-social behaviour in their area.

The Mid Sussex Partnership – a group of organisations working together to solve issues across the district – is supporting the promotion of an online consultation to find out how safe residents feel in their communities. The Safer West Sussex Partnership has launched the consultation to gather information across all the districts and boroughs in West Sussex.

The information shared will enable the partnerships to further improve its understanding of local communities across the district and see whether the current priorities reflect the experiences of residents living there.

Councillor Alison Bennett, Deputy Leader of Mid Sussex District Council, shared: “I urge our residents to take the time to complete the survey so that we can ensure we are putting measures in place to further support our communities. Our district is a fantastic place, and we want to do all we can to ensure that it continues to be a safe place to live, work and play.”

The community safety partnership works to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour, enhance and protect residents' health and wellbeing, and improve quality of life and community involvement. It is part of the Safer West Sussex Partnership that includes other district and borough community safety partnerships, as well as key agencies like Sussex Police, NHS Sussex and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.

Mark Andrews, Chair of the Safer West Sussex Partnership, added: “The Community Safety consultation is an excellent opportunity for all residents of West Sussex to have their say on crime and anti-social behaviour in their local neighbourhood. It is a really important subject that affects everyone, and many people will have experienced or witnessed different issues in their surroundings, which they may or may not have reported.

We hope that this consultation will give people the opportunity to have their say anonymously and help make their neighbourhood a safer place to live.”
