Call for Sites - May 2014

As a result of new Guidance from the government Mid Sussex District Council is updating the Housing Supply Document (also known as the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment) published in 2013.

Town and Parish Councils, members of the public, landowners, consultants and developers are invited to submit new sites or broad locations for inclusion within the Assessments.

It is expected that locations or sites which have previously been submitted will remain within the assessment and therefore there will be no need to resubmit these sites unless there has been a change in the site or the circumstances around it.

Any further information should be submitted to the Council by 5pm on Friday 13th June, by completing the on-line form (link to on line form is https://doitonline.midsussex.gov.uk/officeforms/MSDC_SHLAA.ofml

Please note that this update will not include sites within the South Downs National Park, as from the 1st of April 2013 the South Downs National Park Authority will directly receive all new Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) site submissions within its area.

Background

The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) requires local planning authorities to produce a strategic housing land availability assessment to identify sufficient land to meet their housing need over the plan period. The Housing Supply Document satisfies this requirement.

This Housing Supply Document was published in March 2013 and has a base date of April 2012.
