Housing Supply Document

The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) requires local planning authorities to produce a strategic housing land availability assessment to identify sufficient land to meet their housing need over the plan period. The Housing Supply Document satisfies this requirement.

This Housing Supply Document was published in March 2013 and has a base date of April 2012.

Methodology

The Council's Methodology (pdf, 282kb) used for the Housing Supply Document assessments closely followed Government Practice Guidance and was subject to public consultation (July 2008). Please also see a Summary of Responses (pdf, 177kb) to this consultation.

 

Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment in the South Downs National Park 

From the 1st of April 2013 the South Downs National Park Authority will directly receive all new Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) site submissions within its area.   The details on how to submit a SHLAA site within the South Downs National Park can be found on the Park Authorities’ website by following the link below:
