Disabled Person Reduction Scheme
If the house is the main home of a disabled person then council tax discounts may apply.
There must be at least one such person and the property must have one of the following:
- A room which is not a bathroom, a kitchen or a toilet and which is used (whether for providing therapy or otherwise) by and is required for the needs of the disabled person
- A bathroom or kitchen which is not the only bathroom or kitchen within the dwelling and which is required for meeting their needs; or
- Enough floor space for a wheelchair or to meet their needs.
The person must be substantially and permanently disabled, either by illness, injury, congenital deformity or otherwise.
