Open 4 Business
Open 4 Business is an event arranged and delivered by Mid Sussex District Council through which local business can:
- Promote their work
- Engage and network with partners
- Benefit from exchange of knowledge and expertise
Over the last two years the event has become a digital event, reflecting the growing importance of digital sector and of digital technologies for all business.

Our most recent Open 4 Business event took place at Burgess Hill’s the King’s Centre on 17th October 2017.
With the event’s theme being ‘Digital and You’ the emphasis was placed on helping business understand how best to maximise the opportunities that digital technologies and the digital economy offers for their business.
Speakers discussed topics ranging from cybersecurity to using video in social media.
Representatives from over 30 Sussex firms benefited from valuable digital insights and tools to use immediately in their own businesses.
The event’s keynote speech was delivered by Checkatrade founder Kevin Byrne.
Kevin’s introduction, set the scene for a day of learning and knowledge-building aimed at equipping local businesses with the skills and tactics they need to thrive in the modern digital world.
Six expert speakers from Wired Sussex, Crowdfund-360, Cobb Digital, Pure360, Kogo Ltd and Egg Media spoke about hot topics for digital business including:
- Using video in social media
- The digital skills gap
- How to get the most out of LinkedIn
