Mid Sussex March for Marsden 2020
Introduction
Are you a walker and enjoy the great outdoors? Or perhaps fancy a personal challenge to raise funds to support those affected by cancer? Then join our Chairman, Councillor Trumble on Sunday 29 March 2020 and start British Summer Time with a circular route in the picturesque Mid Sussex countryside to raise funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Details
Choose between either a 3 km route around the beautiful woodland surroundings of Hurstpierpoint or a more challenging 9 km route which includes the spectacular Wolstonbury Hill. Considered the ‘jewel in the crown’ for wild orchid spotting by the National Trust, Wolstonbury Hill is the only place in Sussex where you are likely to see the Man Orchid (Orchis Anthropophora).
The walk is family friendly and you could even bring your dog, on a lead of course!
The circular walk starts and ends at Hurst Bowls Club on South Avenue, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9QB.
Registration for the 9km route begins at 9am and groups will depart every 15 minutes starting at 9:15am. Registration for the 3km route begins at 10am and again groups will depart every 15 minutes starting at 10:15am. All walkers must register & start the routes by 11:00 am.
Parking is available at Trinity Road and Brown Twins Road Car Parks which are just a short ten-minute walk from South Avenue. For Satnav users the postcode is BN6 9QY.
You will be provided with a drink and snack at the end of the walk.
Advance registration is £8 for adults and £5 for children (on the day £10 and £6).
Royal Marsden Cancer Charity T-Shirts can be purchased alongside your registration payment at £6. All pre-paid t-shirts will be ready for collection on the day, so you can wear it on your walk. Please see the picture for an example of the t-shirt. For illustrative purposes only, design may be subject to change.
You can also purchase a t-shirt or merchandise on the day, payment by cash only.

Terms, Conditions and Safety Information
The route will be clearly sign posted on the day with orange and yellow arrows with marshals at key points.
As Wolstonbury Hill is a site of special scientific interest (SSSI), please keep to the paths to ensure that no harm is done to the flora and fauna.
Any walkers who start outside of the specified timing may not have access to the Bowls Club at the end of their walk and will be walking at their own risk.
Please bring your own water for consumption during the walk.
Please ensure your phone is fully charged.
We recommend that you wear appropriate comfortable clothing and well-fitting footwear such as trainers or walking boots.
