Electoral Review of Mid Sussex Council (2021-22)
The Local Government Boundary Commission (England) [LGBCE] is preparing to conduct an Electoral Review of Mid Sussex District Council.
The LGBCE is a body accountable to Parliament. It was established under the Local Democracy, Economic Development & Construction Act 2009. It is responsible for reviewing electoral arrangements of local authorities in England.
An Electoral Review is an examination of a council’s electoral arrangements.
MSDC’s is a periodic ‘Electoral Review’ (last conducted here in 2002). Following the Review, the LGBCE will make final recommendations to Parliament on the following:
- Total number of councillors
- Total number of wards
- Ward boundaries
- Number of councillors elected to each ward
- Names of each ward
They intend to conduct public consultations, as follows:
