Vacancies on the Mid Sussex District Council Standards Committee
PR2264/JB/TC - 03/02/2020
Applications are invited from members of the public for two vacancies as Independent Persons on the Standards Committee.
The Mid Sussex District Council Standards Committee has range of important duties. The tasks relate to the promotion of high standards of conduct by councillors, reviewing and monitoring complaints under the Council’s Complaints Procedure and monitoring the operation of the Councillors’ Code of Conduct.
The Committee currently has two members of the public serving with it to ensure an independent input into its work. As their term is coming to an end we are seeking to appoint representatives for a new four-year term.
The appointment enjoys a small financial allowance. The Committee meets around three times a year, with meetings normally held at 6pm in the Council offices. Other work is done by e-mail and occasional face-to-face meetings
For further information on the role and details of how to apply, please contact Lucinda Joyce on 01444 477225 or email committees@midsussex.gov.uk. You can also write to Democratic Services, Mid Sussex District Council, Oaklands, Haywards Heath, West Sussex. RH16 1SS
Closing date for applications for both positions: Friday 21 February 2020 at 5pm.
Interviews: Week commencing 2 March 2020.
