Lose weight for good with a Weight-Off workshop

PR2064/PT/MF - 02/09/2016

The Mid Sussex Wellbeing team is helping people to lose weight for good by offering spaces on a low cost weight management course in Haywards Heath.

The team’s latest 12 week Weight Off workshop starts at Warden Park, Primary School in Haywards Heath on Thursday 15 September, runs from 8.45 to 9.45am and costs just £1 per week.

The programme focuses on motivation and helping people to make changes to their behaviour, so when they lose weight it stays off for good. Expert nutritionists cover topics such as portion sizes, sugars, food labels and the psychological triggers for eating.

The courses have been a huge success in Mid Sussex, with an incredible 75% of people who have completed the course losing more than 3% of their body weight and a staggering 36% dropping their weight by more than 5%, all in just 12 weeks.

Christine Chapman from Burgess Hill recently went on a Mid Sussex Wellbeing Weight Management Course and has lost nearly two and a half stone in weight.

“I found the course extremely useful,” said Christine. “I’ve done many other courses before, and even led some myself, but the information here is presented in a different way and it really stays with you.

“I started off at 15 stone 4 pounds and I am now 12 stone 12 pounds, so I have lost about two and a half stone. I’m delighted to break that 13 stone barrier and my husband is happy as well because he’s lost weight due to the changes I’ve made to our cooking. He’s gone from struggling to get into his 38 inch trousers to comfortably getting into a size 36.”
