Community Service Award nominations open now
PR2171/AG/MF - 05/06/2018
Mid Sussex residents are being asked to propose local people, who unselfishly give up their time for the benefit of others, for a prestigious Community Service Award.
Each year the Chairman of Mid Sussex District Council hosts the Community Service Awards in recognition of the many people in Mid Sussex who dedicate their time, skills and energy to enhancing the quality of community life. The 2018 Awards and Afternoon Cream Tea will take place in September.
Nominations for the Community Service Awards are submitted by Mid Sussex District Council Members and Town and Parish Councils. The nominees must be selected by Saturday 30 June 2018, so residents are encouraged to contact their local Councillor now if they know someone locally who deserves to be recognised.
“Our Community Service Awards are a way for us to say thank you to all the local volunteers who do so much to help our communities and make Mid Sussex such a great place to live,” said Councillor Bruce Forbes, Chairman of Mid Sussex District Council.
“We have so many unsung heroes in Mid Sussex who enrich our lives by reaching out to their neighbours, raising money for good causes and giving up their time to help others. If you know of someone whose dedication to the local community deserves acknowledgement then please come forward and nominate them for one of our Community Service Awards by contacting your local District, Town or Parish Councillor.”
