By-election called for Haywards Heath Town Council Franklands Ward

PR2240/TS/MF - 27/08/2019

A by-election will be held on Thursday 17 October in the Haywards Heath Franklands Ward following the resignation of Councillor Christian Pitt from Haywards Heath Town Council.

The by-election, if contested, only concerns registered electors in the Haywards Heath Franklands electoral area; residents living in other areas of Mid Sussex will not be eligible to vote.

Following requests from local electors, a by-election has been called to fill the vacant town council seat. The candidates for the by-election have yet to be determined and any registered elector of the Haywards Heath Town Council area is eligible for nomination. Local residents have until 4pm on Friday 20 September 2019 to submit candidate nominations.

The deadline for new voter registration applications is Tuesday 1 October 2019 and the deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Wednesday 2 October 2019. Recent home movers should check that they have updated the electoral register and will be eligible to vote.
