Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Plan Referendum – Thursday 19 January 2017
PR2085/TS/MF - 13/01/2017
Residents of Ansty and Staplefield are reminded that Thursday 19 January 2017 is Polling Day for the referendum on their town and village Neighbourhood Plan.
Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm and voters in Ansty and Staplefield will be asked the following question:
‘Do you want Mid Sussex District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Ansty & Staplefield to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’
Neighbourhood Plans are a way for local people to decide the future of their areas. Town and Parish Councils work alongside local residents to develop plans that will influence the planning of the area where they live and work.
Ansty and Staplefield Parish Council has finalised a Neighbourhood Plan for their area and, if over 50% of residents who vote support the plan, it will be used to decide local planning applications.
Only residents in Ansty and Staplefield are eligible to vote in the Neighbourhood Plan referendum. There will be two polling stations on the day, Ansty Village Hall on Deaks Lane and Staplefield Village Hall. Polling cards were sent out just before Christmas to let residents know which polling station to use.
