Household Waste Recycling Sites and Mobile Collections

There are 2 Household Waste Recycling Sites (former Civic Amenity Sites) operated by West Sussex County Council, within Mid Sussex.

These are at Burgess Hill and East Grinstead.

Household and Garden waste may be left at these sites free of charge, but there are restrictions on the types of vehicle permitted. Please contact the sites if you have any queries.

Plasterboard can no longer be accepted for disposal at
Household Waste Recycling Sites mixed with the general waste, it is only accepted at the following sites which have dedicated containers:

  • Burgess Hill
  • Westhampnett
  • Crawley

Plasterboard from business waste cannot be accepted at these sites.

Mobile Waste Collection Service

Mobile waste (Civic Amenity) collections operate in some villages. Busier sites have a vehicle dedicated to green / garden waste that is then composted.

These collections are funded by Town and Parish Councils.
