Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Plan Making (adoption)
On Wednesday 1st February 2017 Mid Sussex District Council resolved to ‘make’ the Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Development Plan. The Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Plan has been formally ‘made’ as of 2nd February 2017. The Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Development Plan and accompanying Documents including the Environmental Report and the Neighbourhood Plan Regulation 20 Adoption Statement can be inspected, free of charge at the principal office of Mid Sussex District Council in Haywards Heath during normal office hours and are additionally available for inspection below:
A Neighbourhood Planning Referendum was held on Thursday 19th January 2017 where those who live within Ansty and Staplefield were asked "Do you want Mid Sussex District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Ansty and Staplefield to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?" People living in Ansty and Staplefield voted as follows:

On the 28th November 2016 Mid Sussex District Council formally accepted the Recommendations of the Independent Examiner for the Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Plan. This decision enables a Referendum to take place on the Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Plan.
A neighbourhood planning referendum will be held for the Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Development Plan 2014-2031 on Thursday 19th January 2017. The question asked in the referendum will be:
“Do you want Mid Sussex District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Ansty, Staplefield and Brook Street to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
The referendum area is the Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Plan Area, which is smaller than the Ansty and Staplefield Parish Council area.
A person is entitled to vote in the Referendum if on 19th January 2017 if
• He or She is entitled to vote in a local government election in the Referendum Area; and
• His or her qualifying address for the election is in the Referendum Area. A persons qualifying address is, in relation to a person registered in the register of electors, the address in respect of which he or she is entitled to be registered.
The Referendum expenses limit that will apply in relation to the Referendum is £2,435.23
The number of persons entitled to vote in the Referendum by reference to which the limit has been calculated is 1253.
The Referendum will be conducted in accordance with procedures which are similar to those used at local government elections.

Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Plan Examination Report
Mid Sussex District Council has received the Independent Examiner's Report on the Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Plan. The report concludes that, subject to modifications, the Plan should proceed to Referendum. The Examiner's report is available to view below:
The District Council has appointed Deborah McCann as the Examiner of the Ansty and Staplefield Neighbourhood Plan with a Report anticipated to be received during the summer of 2016.

The Examiner has sought clarification on a couple matters relating to the Neighbourhood Plan. The questions and the response of the Parish Council are set out below.

Please note that an additional response has been received from the Borde Hill Estate after the formal consultation closed. This response is also being forwarded to the Examiner marked as received late. A copy of the response is available.
Mid Sussex District Council is publishing the submitted Ansty, Staplefield and Brook Street Neighbourhood Plan. The consultation will run from 21st January 2016 until 3rd March 2016.
Ansty and Staplefield Parish Council has prepared a neighbourhood development plan for the majority of the geographical area of the parish. The Neighbourhood Plan Area excludes land that falls within the Strategic Northern Arc Allocation and land to the east of the railway line south of Haywards Heath. The Plan seeks to allocate additional sites for housing and recreational land.
