The Government’s Nationally Described (Dwelling) Space Standard came into effect on 1st October 2015. Since a Supplementary Planning Document relating to Dwelling Space Standards has been in place since July 2009 and space standards were subjected to viability testing in June 2015, the District Council will apply the nearest equivalent new national technical standard with reference to the comparison tablebelow.
Dwelling space standards are being taken forward in the emerging Mid Sussex District Plan - see Policy DP25: Dwelling Space Standards.
