The Council is preparing an Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP) for Mid Sussex which will identify all types of infrastructure needed to support new homes and businesses in your area over the next 17 years. The Infrastructure Delivery Plan will form part of the evidence for the draft District Plan 2014-2031 and will inform the setting of a Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule. The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a new system of planning charges for the funding of a wide range of infrastructure.
The Planning Act 2008 provides a wide definition of the infrastructure which can be funded by the Community Infrastructure Levy. It can include schools, sports facilities, transport, culture, green infrastructure, community, health and social care facilities among other things. The District Council is working with Town and Parish Councils and other stakeholders to understand what infrastructure is necessary, where and when it needs to be provided and how much it will cost.
