The District Council has produced this conservation area appraisal for Fulking (2008) in order to clearly identify what qualities make this area special and how these qualities can be preserved and enhanced.
Part 1 of the document identifies the elements that contribute to the special historic and architectural character of the conservation area and those features that detract from it.
Part 2 - the Management Proposals - sets out a series of recommendations to preserve and enhance the area and also includes proposed changes to the boundary of the conservation area. The document will inform planning practice and policies for the area. It provides guidance for Planning officers in assessing planning applications. It also provides the local community with a clear idea on what it is about the conservation area that should be cared for and preserved and what enhancements should be made.
