The Licensing authority licences certain types of premises and activities in Mid Sussex to ensure the safety, health and welfare of persons and animals.
Mid Sussex District Council Licensing Policy Update as of 1 May 2015 - As a result of the Deregulation Act 2015 (which took effect on 6th April 2015), this policy has been amended since its approval by The Council at paragraphs 2.4 and 5.4. The amendments relate to changes in the way that regulated entertainment is now licensed.
Where appropriate we investigate complaints concerning licensed premises, activities and practices.
The Environmental Protection Team frequently receive complaints about noise from Entertainment Venues and Public Houses, particularly during the summer months. Noise guidance has been prepared to assist venue operators and Licensees in controlling noise from their premises and should be considered as 'Good Practice'.
