Planning Policy Statement 3, Housing (PPS3) states that local planning authorities need to assess and demonstrate the extent to which existing plans fulfil the requirement to identify and maintain a rolling five-year supply of deliverable land for housing.
An assessment has been undertaken and is available to download below. This sets out the assessment of deliverable housing land for Mid Sussex for the five-year period 2009-2014 (1st April 2009 - 31st March 2014). The assessment shows that there is not a five-year supply of deliverable housing land within the District.
The assessment consists of specific sites which are likely to deliver housing and includes sites already under construction, those with planning permission but where building work has not yet commenced and sites that have potential under current policies to come forward for development within the next five years. The results will be used to inform decisions on planning applications for housing developments after 1st April 2009.
The Assessment will be updated at least annually to actively plan, monitor and manage the housing needs of the District.
