This page gives you information about your collection day for your Garden Waste Bin and Frequently Asked Questions about the Garden Waste Bin Service.

The Garden Waste Collection Service is a subscription service offering a 240 litre wheeled bin or 26 or 52 biodegradable sacks. For full details about the service please go to Garden Waste Service & Home Composting

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS CURRENTLY A WAITING LIST FOR THE GARDEN WASTE SERVICE.

We are undergoing a period of consolidation for the Garden Waste Collection Service and currently have a waiting list. If you wish to join the waiting list please complete an application form (follow the link to the right) and we will add your name to the list. When we are able to offer you the service we will get in touch to check that the service is still required. No payments will be taken from your account whilst you are on the waiting list.

Calendars for April 2010 - March 2011 are now available.

Collections will take place on Bank Holidays, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Please check your calendar for day changes over the Christmas period.

Please note that the time at which your bin is emptied can vary due to crew changes / weather conditions / time of year etc. Please ensure your bin is available for collection from 7am on collection day.

GARDEN WASTE SERVICE ROUND CHANGES FEBRUARY 2010

In order to clear the Garden Waste Collection Service waiting list we are making some round changes to include a second Saturday collection. The changes will affect about 400 customers in the Burgess Hill area. Changes to rounds will be effective from Monday 1^st February 2010.

All affected customers have been informed, by letter, of the changes.

Collections from the following roads in Burgess Hill will change from a Zone 1 Friday - last collection Fri 22^nd January, to a Zone 2 Saturday - first collection Saturday 13^th February :-

Adur Road, Alexandra Road, Barons Court, Beechwoods, Birchwood Grove Road, Broad Green Avenue, Churchill Way, Dalewood Gardens, Doubledays, Ferndale Road, Gladstone Road, Gordon Road, Greenlands Close, Greenlands Drive, Inholmes Close, Inholmes Park Road, Junction Road, Keymer Gardens, Keymer Road, Marlborough Drive, Oak Hall Park, Oakwood Close, Oakwood Road, One Oclock Lane, Orchard Road, Pinehurst, Ravenswood Road, Silverdale Road, Stirling Close, Stirling Court Road, Wykeham Way.

A list of Garden Centres & Nurseries where you can buy the compost that is made from your garden waste can be downloaded from downloads section to the right.

Compost can also now be purchased from Burgess Hill Household Waste Recycling Site.
