Canadian comic Glenn Wool is just one of the top names performing at the Clair Hall Comedy Club this month. Glenn will be joined on Thursday 15 March by fellow gagsmiths Kevin McCarthy and Jimmy McGhie. Doors open at 7.30pm with the performance commencing at 8pm. Glenn Wool has often been compared to legendary comic Bill Hicks but to dismiss him as a mere imitation would be a travesty; Wool has much more to offer. He has established a position as a rising star of the London comedy circuit and has previously supported Ed Byrne on his UK tour. Wool's unquestionable charm and warm disposition ensures he is fondly admired whenever he performs.
Jimmy McGhie is a fast rising star of the comedy circuit. This extraordinary young man had performed just 10 gigs when he reached the final of the ‘So you think you're funny?' competition at the Edinburgh Festival. Not one to rest on his laurels, McGhie went on to reach the finals of the BBC New Talent Competition and the Amused Moose Star Search 2005. Now established as a regular performer on the comedy circuit, McGhie is a talented young comedian with a very bright future.
Kevin McCarthy is an experienced comedy performer and this is evident in his relaxed stage persona. Unflappable under pressure, McCarthy relies on quick wits and his ability to ad-lib to consistently stay one step ahead of audience expectation. With the skill to find humour in any subject, Kevin produces a varied show that's different every time he performs.
