Roger McGough is one of Britain's favourite poetry voices, known for his top selling modern poetry book ‘The Mersey Sound' and BBC Radio 4 programme ‘Poetry Please' but Roger has many strings to his bow. As part of ‘The Scaffold' Roger McGough co-wrote many of the band's songs and had a huge number one hit with ‘Lily The Pink' in 1968. He was also responsible for co-writing the film script to The Beatles Yellow Submarine movie. After a hugely successful career, Roger McGough was awarded a CBE in June 2004 and was recently honoured with Freedom of the City of Liverpool.
