- The Small Scale Housing Allocations Submission Development Plan Document was submitted to the Secretary of State on 22 May 2006 and accompanied by a six-week public consultation period. This enabled individuals to submit representations on the 'soundness' of the documents.
- The Council received representations from 196 respondents.
- Comments related to the content of the Documents as submitted by the Council and there was also a significant number that promoted the allocation of sites in addition to or as alternatives to those put forward by the District Council.
- A total of 58 alternative development sites have been put forward in the representations. These include a mix of previously developed and greenfield sites.
- In addition there were proposals to amend the boundaries of two of the sites included in the Council's Submission Document.
- The Council was required to advertise these proposals to allow representations to be made on them and published the "Alternative Development Sites and Proposed Boundary Changes Document". This Document was also subject to a statutory six-week public consultation period.
