Each area of the country has a Local Strategic Partnership. They bring together at a local level the representatives of public, private, community and voluntary sectors.
Their aim is to make sure that different initiatives and services ‘join up', so they can work together more effectively - and deliver what local people need.
Local Strategic Partnerships are not single organisations and they do not have their own staff or budget but they work together to shape the area according to local concerns and needs.
Mid Sussex Local Strategic Partnership which is named the Mid Sussex Partnership, is responsible for producing Mid Sussex's Sustainable Communities Strategy and ensuring the targets and actions set out within it are carried out.
The Mid Sussex Partnership comprises the following organisations:-
- Mid Sussex District Council
- West Sussex County Council
- Mid Sussex Association of Local Councils (representing Town and Parish Councils)
- Sussex Police
- West Sussex NHS
- Representatives from local voluntary organisations
- Representatives from the local business sector
- Downland Housing Association/Affinity Sutton
- West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service
It also engages with the full range of other statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations in its work.
