Ashurst Wood

Ashurst Wood is situated on a prominent ridge to the south east of East Grinstead and close to the East Sussex county boundary. Boasting good views to the north, south and east across the High Weald, this has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is bypassed by the A22 London to Eastbourne road, and has largely developed since the mid 19th century, although there are some buildings which are much older.

Ashurst Wood is well served with local facilities, including shops with post office and supermarket, a village community centre, recreation ground with football and cricket pitches, pavilion and play equipment. The John Pears Memorial Playing Field with two tennis courts and a modern pavilion provides social facilities.
