New Grant Scheme now in place!
The District Council is now offering the chance of grant funding to support economic development and business related activity in Mid Sussex. Subject to applicants satisfying certain criteria (pdf 23kb), District Council funding may be available to help projects, including events, that will support and develop the economy of all or parts of Mid Sussex.
New Business Newsletter published
The first edition of Mid Sussex Business News (pdf, 376kb) has been published. This new quarterly newsletter contains information on a range of issues of interest to the Mid Sussex business community. So take a look and watch out for future editions.
We're here to help your business
The Council is committed to helping Mid Sussex businesses in whatever way we can, not only during these difficult times for the economy, but into the future too. We have refocused and strengthened our approach to economic development. As well as a new Cabinet portfolio for Economic Investment and Regeneration, the District Council now has a full time Economic Development Officer, and Steve Tilbury is now the first point of contact at the District Council for business related enquiries.
Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan for 2010/11 now approved
The Council has adopted a new Economic Development Strategy (pdf, 1,671.0kb) in 2010. This sets out the Council's priorities and objectives in this area of its work and will also act as the basis for future annual action plans. These will set out in more detail what the Council, together with its private and public sector partners, will be doing to help achieve the prosperous and healthy economy that is so important to everyone who lives or works in Mid Sussex.
A detailed Economic Development Action Plan (pdf 183kb) for 2010/11 has also now been approved. This sets out in detail the actions the Council and its partners will be taking over the year to help meet the objectives in the Economic Development Strategy and to address the particular issues facing businesses now and in the future.
While the District Council will be focusing on these objectives and actions, please let us know if, as a business in Mid Sussex, you have any particular concerns or issues that you would like to draw to our attention.
