Two papers will be presented to the Better Environment Advisory Group for consideration on 16th June 2009. These papers (and relevant downloads) are as follows:

Note: This draft does not include policies concerning Housing, Employment or Renewable Energy. These areas will be considered by the Better Environment Advisory Group later on this year.

Draft Core Strategy Proposed Submission Document
Following the production of Core Strategy Pre-Submission Topic Papers the District Council has begun the process of preparing the Proposed Submission version of the Core Strategy. Sections of this document have been drafted and will be reported to the District Council's Better Environment Advisory Group on the 13th January. Comments received at this meeting will help to shape the Proposed Submission document that will eventually be considered for approval by Council later in the year. As already mentioned only parts of the Proposed Submission document have been drafted to date. Sections of the document that have not been drafted include the housing and employment related policies. Drafts of these policies will be considered by the Better Environment Advisory Group in the Spring/early Summer.

CORE STRATEGY : PRE-SUBMISSION DOCUMENT
The 'Pre-Submission' Core Strategy Document was published for a statutory six-week consultation period between 7th February and 20th March. It included a number of options for the location of new development, including large-scale housing sites, and a range of other potential policies relating to the location and nature of future development in Mid Sussex. The publication of this document gave everyone the opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of the District over the next 18 years.

RURAL ISSUES BACKGROUND PAPER
As part of the evidence base for the Core Strategy, the District Council has prepared a Rural Issues Background Paper. This Paper will help inform the policies in the emerging Core Strategy, particularly those that are concerned with the villages and rural settlements.
