Revised local code of conduct complaints process

Elected Members to Mid Sussex District Council and Parish/Town Councillors are subject to a Members Code of Conduct while they are conducting Council business for their Authority. If someone believed that a Member had breached that Code of Conduct in some way they now report the matter in writing to Mid Sussex District Council, not the Standards Board.  Further details on our Members' Code of Conduct page.

refuse and recycling bins

Recycling Reminder

Recycling rates across Mid Sussex have soared since the introduction of Alternate Weekly Collection! We now consistently reach 42% of waste we collect being recycled. However contamination rates of materials in Blue Lidded Recycling bins that we can't recycle have been slowly creeping up.

The items that we most commonly find in bins that we are currently not able to recycle are:

- Plastic Bags
- Yoghurt/ Margarine/ Ice Cream Cartons
- Plastic Food Trays
- Aluminium Foil

Please put these items in your Grey Lidded Landfill Bin.

Please look at our Refuse and Recycling section for further information.
