Road Safety

Since 2010 the number of casualties on the roads of Mid Sussex has been increasing. In 2014 a total of 527 people were either killed or injured on the roads of Mid Sussex.

Mid Sussex is located around two major A roads which may contribute to the high number of reported incidents, the A23 runs from North to South and the A272 runs from East to West.

The Mid Sussex Partnership has identified road safety as a key priority and carries out campaigns to try and reduce the number of causalities on Mid Sussex roads. Much of this relies on providing information to road users to help them stay safe.
