Mid Sussex District Council is encouraging people who struggle to pay their energy bills and keep their homes warm to take advantage of the Government’s Warm Home Discount scheme this winter.
The Government is working alongside electricity suppliers to offer extra support to people struggling to afford their energy. Mid Sussex District Council is urging local people to apply now for the support, which provides eligible households with a £140 discount on their electricity bill.
“Winter is a traditionally expensive time of year so I would encourage families and those eligible for this discount to contact their energy supplier,” said Councillor Norman Webster, Mid Sussex Cabinet Member for Community.
"I would urge people interested in taking advantage of the discount to act quickly because it is limited and suppliers will close their application process once they have reached their Government-set targets.”
To take advantage of this discount, residents should contact their energy supplier directly and ask about the Warm Home Discount scheme.
