A by-election will be held on Thursday 5 May in Balcombe following the resignation of Councillor Katherine Miners from the Parish Council.
The by-election, which will be held alongside the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner election on the same day, only concerns registered electors in the Balcombe electoral area; residents living in other areas of Mid Sussex will not be eligible to vote.
Following requests from local electors, a by-election has been called to fill the vacant seat. The candidates for the by-election have yet to be determined and any registered elector in Mid Sussex is eligible for nomination. Local residents have until 4pm on Thursday 7 April 2016 to submit candidate nominations. The deadline for new voter registration applications is Midnight on Monday 18 April 2016 and the deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday 19 April 2016.
Recent home movers should check that they have updated the electoral register and will be eligible to vote.
