Mid Sussex District and Haywards Heath Town Council by-election results

Judy Llewellyn-Burke and Claire Fussell have been elected to Mid Sussex District Council and Claire Cheney and Ruth de Mierre are elected to Haywards Heath Town Council after by-elections were held on Thursday 4 May 2017.

The by-elections were held following resignations in the Bolney and Burgess Hill Franklands Wards of Mid Sussex District Council and the Bentswood Ward of Haywards Heath Town Council.

The election results for the Mid Sussex District Council Burgess Hill Franklands Ward are as follows:

Graham Reginald ALLEN (LIB DEM) – 600 votes

Elaine Dorothy BOLTON (LAB) – 175 votes

Robert George DUGGAN (GREEN)– 81 votes

Chris FRENCH (UKIP) – 91 votes

Claire Marie FUSSELL (CON) – 757 votes – ELECTED

The total number of votes cast in the Burgess Hill Franklands Ward by-election was 1707. There were 3 rejected ballot papers and the turnout was 42%.

The election results for the Mid Sussex District Council Bolney Ward are as follows:

Peter James HOPGOOD (UKIP) – 59 votes

Rodney Thomas Hayden JACKSON (LIB DEM) – 201 votes

Judy LLEWELLYN-BURKE (CON) – 562 votes – ELECTED

Baron von THUNDERCLAP (OMRLP) – 33 votes

The total number of votes cast in the Bolney Ward by-election was 858. There were 3 rejected ballot papers and the turnout was 39.4%.

The election results for the Haywards Heath Town Council Bentswood Ward are as follows:

Howard Richard Charles BURRELL (UKIP) – 121 votes

Marielena BURRELL (UKIP) – 112 votes

Clare CHENEY (CON) – 564 votes – ELECTED

Ruth DE MIERRE (CON) – 582 votes – ELECTED

Stephanie Josette INGLESFIELD (LIB DEM) – 282 votes

Paul LUCRAFT (LIB DEM) – 240 votes

Suzanne Margaret NICHOLSON (LAB) – 321 votes

Ian Paul WINTERFLOOD (LAB) – 283 votes

The total number of people of votes cast in the Haywards Heath Town Council Bentswood Ward by-election was 1315. There were 125 rejected votes and the turnout was 30%.
