Mid Sussex District Council has launched a public consultation to ask local people what they think about the location of CCTV cameras in Burgess Hill, East Grinstead and Haywards Heath.
There are 24 CCTV cameras currently in operation in the three Mid Sussex towns. Monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by Sussex Police, they play a vital role in helping to prevent crime and disorder, reducing the fear of crime and increasing public safety for both residents and visitors.
The existing CCTV cameras are in need of upgrading and Mid Sussex District Council, Burgess Hill, East Grinstead and Haywards Heath Town Councils are considering the introduction of four additional CCTV cameras.
Mid Sussex District Council is now seeking the views of residents on the positions of the new and existing cameras, to make sure they are reinstalled where they are needed most.
