How to Pay your Council Tax
Payments are due in accordance with the payment instructions shown on your Council Tax bill. You may pay your bill by instalments, two half yearly payments or one annual payment. If you wish to change your method or frequency of payment from that shown in the payment instructions on your bill, please contact the Council on 01444 477564.
If you pay by any method other than Direct Debit, payment will take up to 7 days to reach the Council's bank account, so please make sure that your payments are made in advance of the due date. The following payment methods are available to pay your bill:
Direct Debit is the easiest, cheapest and most popular way for you to pay your Council Tax. This authorises the Council to collect your Council Tax direct from your Bank or Building Society after informing you of the amount due. If you are not already paying by Direct Debit, please contact us for details, or download a Direct Debit form.
The Council uses a secure server to receive your payment card details. Take a look at the Online payments page or further details:
Home (Telephone or Internet) Banking
Many Banks and Building Societies now offer banking services via the telephone or the Internet. Please quote your Council Tax account number, the Council's bank sort code, 30-80-12, and account number, 11517968, with your payments. At a Post Office
For payment to be made at a post office a personalised payment card is required which can only be obtained from the Council. This service is free of charge.
