The Environmental Health Section licences certain types of premises and activities in Mid Sussex to ensure the safety, health and welfare of persons and animals.

Where appropriate we investigate complaints concerning licensed premises, activities and practices.

We also provide education, advice and information on matters relating to licensing.

Important Licensing Changes

The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 is now law.

The Government will bring many of the changes in the Act into force on 25 April 2012.

These changes will effect:

  • Temporary Event Notices
  • Responsible Authorities
  • Annual Fees for Premises Licences & Club Premises Certificates
  • Applications for Premises Licences & Club Premises Certificates
  • Underage sales
  • Early Morning alcohol restriction orders
  • Late night levy
