Planning and building control
Building Control – Providing assistance in the building process to ensure minimum building standards are met to safeguard the community against bad practice.
Planning – Processing and publication of planning applications. This service also handles related matters such as listed buildings, applications to works to protected trees, and advertisement consent.
Planning Enforcement – Investigating potential breaches of planning control.
Planning policy – Preparation of local planning policies that guide the Council’s decisions on planning applications. The team is currently working on the new Mid Sussex District Plan and helping Parish Councils to prepare their Neighbourhood Plans.
Local Land Charges ––Providing property searches to those who are purchasing homes or property.
Refuse and recycling
Refuse and recycling – Providing the bin collection service for Mid Sussex, as well as other refuse services including, garden waste, bulky household waste, assisted collections, abandoned vehicles, street sweeping, fly tipping information and recycling.
