Mid Sussex District Council are committed to maintaining and improving the local built and natural environment to make a better Mid Sussex. To deliver a better environment we provide a range of services dedicated to environmental protection, including refuse and recycling, and the conservation of our natural environment. We also have a regulatory role in protecting our working and living environment, for example in planning control, pest control, noise control and business and trading standards.

From 1st April 2011, Mid Sussex District Council will be processing planning applications submitted within the area of the South Downs National Park that falls within Mid Sussex, under the terms of an agency agreement with the South Downs National Park Authority.
