As the number of people owning and using vehicles increases, so does the demand for somewhere to park. Quite often this will be in the town and village centres, or places where houses do not have their own parking spaces off the road.
Mid Sussex District Council and West Sussex County Council are responsible for managing the available spaces for vehicles to park as follows:
- pay and display, disc, and time limited car parks (Mid Sussex District Council)
- restrictions and controls on the road - (West Sussex County Council)*
- controlled parking zone - East Grinstead only (West Sussex County Council)**
