Shared ownership is aimed at first time buyers, however, other applicants may also be considered e.g. those who have gone through a relationship breakup. Social tenants who wish to buy a property through shared ownership are given priority.
Mid Sussex District Council believes that new affordable housing developments in the villages and towns of Mid-Sussex should enable local people to remain in their own communities if they wish to do so. Applicants with a local connection through residence, employment or close family residence with the town or parish where the development is located are therefore prioritised.
