This pass can be used for free bus journeys in England from 9.30am to 11.00pm Mondays to Fridays and anytime at weekends and bank holidays.
This is in accordance with the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme.
In addition as a local discretion West Sussex County Council also offers residents with a disability bus passes that provide all day travel on weekdays throughout the County, as well as anytime at weekends and bank holidays.
If you are a resident in Mid Sussex and would like to apply for your national free bus pass, please visit your local Parish Office taking with you a recent passport sized photo, proof of residency, proof of age, and National Insurance Number. If applying on the grounds of a disability (see qualifying disability page), please contact 01444 477304 or email Concessionarytravel@midsussex.gov.uk for additional information.
If you qualify for national free bus travel you can elect to have a free railcard instead of a bus pass.
Changes to age eligibility for concessionary bus passes from 6th April 2010.
As from 6th April 2010 the state pensionable age for women is to gradually increase from 60 - 65 over the 10 year period from 2010 to 2020, so to will the qualifying age for a concessionary bus pass for both men and women.
The age of eligibility for a bus pass is scheduled to rise by 2 months every 1 month. This means the earliest date on which you can apply for a bus pass will depend on what month you were born and will not fall on your birthday.
These changes do not affect anyone already in possession of a bus pass, only those due to turn 60 on or after 6th April 2010.

Anyone born after 5th April 1955 will not be eligible until they reach 65
